Description

The National Park Service has a project entitled Rehabilitation of Roof and Foundation of the Callahan House and Cottage. The contractor shall furnish all labor, parts, materials, tools, equipment, supervision and all other incidentals as necessary for rehabilitation of wood frame, roof and gutter repair and/or replacement, new foundation construction and vegetation removal at two structures on the same site. This solicitation will consist of Base Bid and two (2) additives. Base Bid Roof Repair/Coating: The work consists of cleaning, repairing and applying two coats of elastomeric roof coating to two metal roof systems, approx. 2750 sf; removal of existing gutters and installation of approx. 40 LF of new gutter and screening, mathcing downspouts, approx. 20 LF of drianline and a concrete splashblock; and cleaning, repairing and sealing approx. 40 LF of flashing located between a roof system and the Callahan House. Additive 1 Callahan House Foundation Repair: The work consists of construction of seven (7) concrete foundations and attachment to existing wood posts, each foundation approx. 8 CF; reattaching and coating plywood roof, approx. 300sf; cleaning, borate treating, installation of new wood connectors and painting wood frame deck; and removal of vegetation and treatment of stone wall with herbicide. Additive 2 Callahan Cottage Foundation Repair: The work consists of removal of vegetation and debris; removal of existing foundations and construction of six (6) concrete foundations and attachment of existing or new wood framing, each foundation approx. 8 cf; and removal of deteriorated wood framing, replacement with new borate treated wood framing, and painting all framing. LOCATION: Virgin Islands National Park Service, Callahan Quarters, Centerline Road, Estate Catherineberg, St. John, United States Virgin Islands. THE NORTH AMERICAN INDUSTRY CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (NAICS) CODE IS: 23332. THE SIZE STANDARD IS $27.5 MILLION. THE PRICE RANGE IS $100,000.00 -- $250,000.00. AWARD IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE GOVERNMENT MAY BE MADE ON THE BASE BID AND ANY COMBINATION OF ADDITIVE BIDS FOR WHICH FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE TIME OF AWARD, PROVIDED THAT AWARD ON SUCH COMBINATION OF BID ITEMS DOES NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT OFFERED BY ANY OTHER CONFORMING RESPONSIBLE BIDDER FOR THE SAME COMBINATION OF BID ITEMS. THERE WILL BE A PRE-BID MEETING HELD ON AUGUST 17, 2001 @ 9:30 AM -- ALL INTERESTED PARTIES ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND. The period of completion is 60 days.
