Description

The intent of this contract is to secure services for Mechanical Thinning, felling using a feller buncher, whole tree stacking, whole tree yarding and utilization of yarded material and disposal of material. The contractor is required to execute a 2400-3T timber sale contract and remove an estimated 3824 green tons of biomass material. The project area may be reached from Truckee, California, via interstate 80 to Hirschdale Exit and proceed north on County 894 to Forest Service Road 72. To reach upper end of the project area turn right on Forest Service Road 72 for approximately 5 miles to Forest Service Road 72-22 and turn left. Proceed on Forest Service Road 72-22 for approximately .5 miles to the project area. To reach the lower end of the project area proceed North on county road 894 approximately 4.2 miles and turn right on Forest Service Road 270-3. Proceed on Forest Service Road 270-3 approximately .7 miles to the location where the road is blocked. The project area is approximately .6 miles up the blocked road. Estimated solicitation issue date 08/15/01. Estimated start work date 09/24/01, contract time 59 days.
