Description

The U.S. Postal Service is soliciting proposals from prequalified contractors for the roof replacement project at the San Bernardino Processing & Distribution Center. In brief, this project consists of removing approximately 290,000 square feet of existing four-ply built-up roofing, including abatement of certain asbestos-containing materials in the roofing system as identified in the asbestos report; installing a new four-ply solid-mopped membrane with gravel-impregnated cap sheet over one layer of perlite; installing new aluminum flashings, copings, and trim; replacing the existing sealants at joints between concrete tilt-up panels; and replacing the existing fiberglass skylights at the adjacent 80,000 square foot annex building, including waterproofing repairs along the ridge. Estimated cost range is $700,000 to $1.2 million. The work is to be completed within 150 calendar days from the notice to proceed date. A proposal guarantee is not required.
