Description

The National Park Service has a project entitled Foundation Repairs at Park Residences (Lameshur, Island Fancy, Little Cinnamon). The contractor shall furnish all labor, parts, materials, tools, equipment, supervision and all incidentals as necessary for structural and architectural rehabilitation work of three (3) park residences. The solicitation will consist of a base bid and three (3) additives. Base Bid consists of work at Lameshur House and Island Fancy. (Lameshur House: removal of concrete sidewalk, regrade sidewalk with historic pavers, and insall new sidewalk, matching existing elevations, over historic pavers; repair of historic masonry walls; removal of concrete plaster on historic stair treads, replaster surface to provide smooth surface that meets existing elevations). (Fancy Island: removal and replacement of an exterior concrete column, including shoring roof framing, and removal & replacement of metal railings & floor tiles; repair of an interior concrete wall, including shoring of attic framing; demolition & reconstruction of stone walls, and construction of a modular concrete retaining wall behind stone walls). Additive 1 consists of site work at Little Cinnamon residence (demolition of a retaining wall and construction of a new concrete modular unit retaining wall with structural geogrid and the construction and grouting of a rubble wall). Additive 2 consists of site work at Little Cinnamon residence (demolition of a small concrete masonry unit shack, approx. 100 sf of sidewalk, approx. 40 linear feet of concrete gutter, approx. 20 linear feet of 8" concrete curb, a buried drainage pipe, and electrical service; construction of appros. 100 sf of concrete sidewalk, 55 linear feet of concrete gutter, 50 linear feet of concrete drainage trough with a Neenah grate, a stone-surfaced drainagepad, approx. 200 sf of new sidewalk surface, overhead electrical service and new electrical conduit. Additive 3 consists of structural work on Little Cinnamon residence foundation and floor slab (drilling small access holes in floor slab and pressure grouting low-strength, high slump grout below slab. AWARD IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE GOVERNMENT MAY BE MADE ON THE BASE BID AND ANY COMBINATION OF ADDITIVE BIDS FOR WHICH FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE TIME OF AWARD, PROVIDED THAT AWARD ON SUCH COMBINATION OF BID ITEMS DOES NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT OFFERED BY ANY OTHER CONFORMING RESPONSIBLE BIDDER FOR THE SAME COMBINATION OF BID ITEMS. Location: Virgin Island National Park, St. John, United States Virgin Islands. THERE WILL BE A PRE-BID MEETING HELD ON AUGUST 16, 2001 @ 9:30 AM -- ALL INTERESTED PARTIES ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND. THE NORTH AMERICAN INDUSTRY CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (NAICS) CODE IS: 23332. THE SIZE STANDARD IS $27.5 MILLION. THE PRICE RANGE IS: $250,000.00 -- $500,000.00. The period of completion is 180 days.
