Description

Provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation and supervision required for the general construction of a parking lot at the Eruption Site, located at the end of the Chain of Craters Road within Hawaii Volanoes National Park, island of Hawaii, about 30 miles from the intersection of Crater Rim Drive with State Hwy. 11. Work to include excavation of about 1,500 c.y. of lava rock, placement of about 500 c.y. of 2-1/2" minus subbase, 350 c.y. of 3/4" minus base, and 540 tons of asphalt concrete surfacing; removal of about 470 l.f. of existing paint striping, applying about 100 l.f. of 4" yellow, 1,460 l.f. of 4" white, and about 54 l.f. of 12" white, thermoplastic traffic striping, four white thermoplastic arrows, installation of 38 plastic curb stops, installation of 39 plastic posts in concrete footings and 720 l.f. of steel rail, four signs, furnishing and installing a vault toilet, temporary relocation of two portable structures, and permanent relocation of the same two structures, construction of a speed bump, and other related incidental work. The performance period of the contract will be seventy-five calendar days. NEPA compliance is not yet obtained, but is expected by mid-to late August, 2001. Contract award will not be made until NEPA compliance has been granted. The NAICS Code is 234110 (SIC Code 1611); size standard $27.5 million. This procurement is open to both large and small businesses in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Act. The estimated range is between $250,000 and $500,000. A limited number of solicitations will become available approximately July 23rd, 2001 on a first-come, first-served basis until the supply is exhausted. Contractor will have a thirty day response time for submission of bids from the date of solicitation issuance. There is no charge for the solicitation package, however, only one copy will be furnished to each requesting party. Planholders lists will not be faxxed.
