- Description
- The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM), Washington, DC, seeks proposals for computer-assisted design (CAD) drawing and detailing services for the software applications Form Z Renderzone 3.6.5 and Vectorworks 9.0 (for Macintosh). The Contractor shall provide all services including labor, materials, equipment, facilities and transportation except as otherwise specified as necessary in the statement of work. It is anticipated this requirement will be awarded as a fixed labor hour type contract. The estimated not-to-exceed (NTE) hours are 700 hours for the base year and 1,000 hours for the option period. The successful Offeror shall produce design schemes, three-dimensional views, and two-dimensional detailed drawings using conventional drawing standards, and shall produce design drawings, views, and illustrations integrated with graphic designs. The Contractor shall work cooperatively as a member of a creative team with other contract designers as well as USHMM staff. The Contractor shall be available to perform work on-site at the USHMM, 100 Raoul Wallenberg Place, SW, Washington, DC. The majority of work is expected to be performed independently, at the Contractor's facility. The Contractor shall meet the following contract requirements: (A) Three (3) years experience in CAD design software Form Z Renderzone 3.6.5, Vectorworks 9.0 and Photoshop 5.5 or their respective predecessor software versions as well as comparable experience in integrating the output from these software programs with other applications; (B) Capable of exchanging graphic designs created in Photoshop 5.5, Freehand 9.0, Illustrator 8.0 or Quark Xpress 4.1 with Form Z and Vectorworks; (C) Minimum of five (5) years experience in the custom fabrication of casework for the display of artifacts, including requirements for the control of environmental conditions in accordance with latest museum conservation standards and practice is required; and (D) Minimum of five (5) years experience in detailing designs for a broad range of shop fabrication techniques including computer aided cutting, shaping and routing, and expert knowledge of materials including metal and glass, as well as wood products. The solicitation is for a period of performance from effective date of award through September 30, 2002 with an unfunded option period of October 1, 2002 through September 30, 2003. Award will be made to the responsive, responsible offeror after evaluation of technical criteria and price. It is estimated that evaluation and award will be made by September 30, 2001. Delivery of proposals will be by August 20, 2001, to Division of Procurement, U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, 100 Raoul Wallenberg Place, SW Washington, DC 20024-2150. Travel to Washington, DC for 1 or 2 days will be required for discussions related to your proposal submission. The price for travel to Washington, DC shall be included and separately priced in your proposal.
