Description

NASA/KSC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for PMC Based Fiber Optic Reflective Memory Board with 64 Mbytes, Multimode Fiber, P/N VMIPMC-5579-500 Fiber Optic Cable P/N VMICBL-000-F4-002. This Memory Board must be compatible with existing hardware and NASA-developed software. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/KSC intends to purchase this item from VMIC, South Memorial Parkway, Huntsville, AL 35803-3308, on a sole source basis. Only one responsible source is available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have until 7/20/01 to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities and quotes, providing a description in sufficient detail to show that the product offered meets the Government's requirement. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the due date or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer for all or none, which shall be considered by the agency.
