- Description
- The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has a requirement for third generation ground stations (called Local User Terminals or LUTs) for the Search-and-Rescue Satellite-Aided Tracking (SARSAT) program. NOAA plans to acquire between 10 and 12 Low Earth Orbiting Satellite Search-and-Rescue LUTs (LEOLUTs) and between 0 and 4 Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite Search-and-Rescue LUTs (GEOLUTs). Additionally, NOAA requires a warranty of at least one year on the LEOLUTs and GEOLUTs, along with installation, training, spares, support equipment, and documentation for the LEOLUTs and GEOLUTs. Further, NOAA requires maintenance and technical support of the LEOLUTs and GEOLUTs for a period of up to eight years after conclusion of the warranty period on the LEOLUTs and GEOLUTs. Solicitation 52-DGNE-1-90053 will be issued on or about July 31, 2001 and will close on or about August 30, 2001.
