Description
The U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters, Office of Acquisition, Office of Contract Support, General Contract Division (G-ACS-2B) has a requirement for one (1) Near Shore Lifeboat (NLB). This commercial item acquisition is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 12 and FAR Subpart 13.5. The basic estimated requirements for the NLB are that it be of the Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) type, be inherently self righting with a cabin suitable for four crew, have a length between 28 and 36 feet overall, have a speed of not less than 30 knots, and have propulsion provided by twin diesel engines with waterjets. The NLB shall be a mature Non-Developmental Item. Only current production boats with minor modifications in materials, equipment, arrangement, or dimensions will be considered. The Request for Quote (RFQ) number is DTCG23-01-Q-DNQ398. This requirement is available for full and open competition. The U.S. Coast Guard anticipates award of a Firm Fixed Price contract for one (1) NLB and one (1) set of initial spares for the NLB. It is anticipated that the RFQ will be available in July, with quotes due 20 days after the issuance of the RFQ. The RFQ and all attachments will be posted to www.eps.gov and available for download under RFQ number DTCG23-01-Q-DNQ398. The opening/closing response date listed is an estimate. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 336612. This synopsis does not constitute an IFB, RFP, or RFQ, nor does its issuance restrict the Government as to the ultimate acquisition approach. All responsible small business sources will be considered. For Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
