Description

The Colville National Forest requires trail reconstruction and relocation for two trails on the Three Rivers Ranger District. The purpose of this project is to reconstruct and relocation approximately 6,025 feet of the Wapaloosie Trail #15, and reconstruct approximately 7,553 feet of Stickpin Trail #71. Both trails are located west of Kettle Falls, Washington. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, tools and transportation necessary to perform the work in accordance with the specification and provisions of the contract. Reconstruction and relocation includes, but not limited to: reconstructing the trail to original grades and alignment, removing protruding rock and roots, filling ruts and troughs, cutting back logs, stumps and brush, and refinishing the entire tread surface for the entire length of the trail. Other work includes construction or reconstruction of log/rock water bars, side ditch, turnpike, puncheon and log stringer bridges, clearing and grubbing, excavation, installation of seven or more culverts, rock excavation and rolling grade dips. This project will be advertised as a written quotation and will be solicited under the Simplified Acquisition Procurement (SAP) rules. Estimated issue date of the solicitation is on or about August 2, 2001. Estimated start work date is on or about September 1, 2001, with a completion date of 400 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. Quotes are estimated to be due August 23, 2001. An Alternate Payment Protection (payment bond) will be required upon award. NAICS code is 234990. The project is 100 percent small business set-aside.
