Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.5 as supplemented with additional information included by electronic notice. The electronic announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are advised that they are responsible for obtaining amendments. The Department of Veterans Affairs, White River Jct., VT is seeking the services of an Orthopedic Surgeon. Work is to be performed at the VA Medical and Regional Office Center, White River Jct., VT, for a three month period with options for extending this contract beyond that date. The individual selected for this position shall provide full time Orthopedic services and be responsible for providing surgical services for electively scheduled operating room cases on an as needed basis inclusive of providing specialty coverage for common procedures of the extremities, surgery of congenital and acquired defects of the musculoskeletal system, surgery of joint replacement, surgery of spinal disease, arthroscopic surgery, hand surgery, surgery of functional restoration, tendon transfers, surgery of skeletal neoplasm and infection, surgery of musculoskeletal trauma; they will perform orthopaedic surgery inpatient rounds daily; and participate in the outpatient clinic. Individuals shall be available to provide on-call coverage during other than normal work hours. Individuals shall participate in the education, teaching, and supervision of surgical residents in assessing, evaluating, and planning care for orthopaedic patients receiving surgical intervention and assist in the teaching of interns, surgical residents, and nursing staff in the care and treatment of orthopaedic patients. All personnel providing services under this contract shall speak and write English proficiently. The solicitation number is 405-45-01. This solicitation is issued as an RFP. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-27. The acquisition is unrestricted. The NAIC code is 621111. Evaluations will be made on availability, qualifications, past performance, price, and small disadvantaged business HUB Zone participation.
