- ?Sources Sought Synopsis.? The US Coast Guard is seeking sources to provide a commercially off-the-shelf internet-based software application system for Integrated Maritime Information System. The system will be used as a solution to the consolidation and management of ports and waterways information and decision support tools for the port systems of Honolulu and Barbers Point, Oahu, Hawaii. This Web site will serve to collect, automate, analyze, and disseminate near real-time information on all commercial vessel traffic activity, marine facilities and operations, and waterway activities. Many of these functions will require controlled access to users. Functional management fields will include: 1. Automated Advanced Notice of Vessel Arrivals:=20 2. Bulletin Boards. 3. Fax Server. 4. Glossary of basic Port Information for each port. 5. Interactive Port Mapping. 6. Marine Event Permitting System. 7. Marine Facility Characteristics / Information Database. 8. Maritime Industry Directory. 9. On-line, Ad Hoc Reports. 10. Port Activity Video Monitoring. 11. Service Vessel Schedules and Status 12. Vessel Characteristics / Information Database. 13. User Management Capabilities and User Account Administration. THIS SYNOPSIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. It is a market research tool being utilized to determine: (1) The availability of potential commercial sources before determining the method of acquisition. (2) Whether or not the available commercial systems are compliant with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, 29 U.S.C.? 794d. For determining Section 508 compliance, potential offerors are directed to access the following web site: www.section508.gov/final_text.html. Once at this site, proceed to Subpart B, Technical Standards and click on 1194.21 Software applications and operating systems, 1194.22 Web-based Intranet and Internet information and applications.=20 RESPONSES: Vendors having the capability to meet or exceed the stated requirements are requested to submit appropriate documentation, literature, brochures and references. Responses must include the name and address of the firm and the business size. Vendors are requested to indicate the extent of current and anticipated 508 compliance by indicating that their product: (1) is not compliant and there is no expectation of it being made compliant, (2) eventually will be made compliant, but does not now comply, (3) is __% (somewhat) compliant and is not expected to be made fully compliant, (4) is __% (partially) compliant with progress towards full compliance, or (5) is fully compliant. If you indicate that future compliance is anticipated provide the estimated date of compliance. This solicitation is for planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the government, nor will the government pay for any information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Responses may be e-mailed, faxed or mailed.
