Description
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) through the ADP Acquisitions Branch, Program Support Center (PSC), intends to award a twelve (12) month sole source simplified acquisition to Boston University School of Medicine. The primary goal of this simplified acquisition is to provide is the development of a culturally competent psychiatric training curricula that will be implemented in designated psychiatry residency training programs that will be used as a national model. The focus of our systems change effort is at the source, psychiatry residency training. This training will in turn, increase awareness and sensitivity among residents in training to minority mental health, chemical health and behavioral problems that can often lead to aggressive behaviors. Overall, this project will provide accessible and equitable mental health services for all who need them. Closing date is July 23, 2001. This proposed requirement for which the Government intends to solicit only one source is under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). Interested concerns may identify their interest and submit a capability statement that demonstrates their ability to provide the services required. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation is available; therefore, requests for such document will be considered invalid responses. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no affirmative responses are received within 10 days from the date of this synopsis, the Contracting Officer will proceed with the award to Boston University School of Medicine. =09
