- Description
- The USDA, Agricultural Research Service, Livestock Behavior Research Unit, West Lafayette, IN, has the requirement for the purchase of a multiplex quantitative PCR system. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation No. 5114-1-3003 is issued as a Request for Proposal. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-27. The solicitation is issued under full and open competition. Any responsible contractor may submit a quotation. NAICS Code is 334516 with a corresponding size standard of 500 employees applies to qualify as a small business. Offerors are to propose prices for the following: system will consist of Instrument: Excitation source: Quartz Tungsten Halogen lamp; Excitation range: 350-750 nm; Detector: 4 Photomultiplier tubes; Emission range: 350-830 nm; Multiplexing capabilities: 4 dyes simultaneously; Filters: Four (4) user-selected filter sets provided -- FAM, TET, HEX/JOE/VIC, TAMRA, Texas Red/ROX, Cy5 and Cy3 filter sets; Tube Formats: 20 ul 96-well plates, tubes and tube strips; Reading time: 96 wells in 7 seconds, all 4 wavelenghts; Dimensions: 30" (W) x 18" (D) x 20 "(H), weight: 100 lbs; Thermal system: Patent-pending, solid state, hybrid Peltier thermal system. Software: Real-time amplification plots can be viewed during PCR run; melting curve analysis with automatic of Tm calculation; plot standard curves for multiple dyes on single chart; View all dyes on the same amplification plot; Allelic discrimination by threshold cycle or by endpoint fluorescence values; Perform multiple sub-experiments on a single plate, multiplex up to 4 days; View and analyze data in multiple formats, including: amplification plots, scatter plots, sample value screens for the entire plate for all dyes, fluorescent intensity screens, final call results, melting curves, annealing range and test reports. Computer: Pentium III 1.0GHz/100MHz with 40 GM hard drive; 128 MB 133MHz SDRAM; 15" Flat panel LCD monitor; 48x CDROM; Microsoft Windows 98SE; 56 K modem; Network adapter; Premier Sound Speakers, Mouse and keyboard; and Mx4000 software package. A 12 month warranty that covers all parts and labor is required. Installation and instruction will be required at the location by trained personnel and the cost will be at no additional cost.
