Description
Provide services, materials and equipment necessary to strip and remove existing paint and finish from a maple wood gymnasium floor (approximately 5400 square feet) located at 1300 Stedman St. Ketchikan, Alaska. All work to be performed and abrasive and sanding equipment used shall be in accordance with required industry standards. Remove only enough of the present surface coatings to just expose the bare maple wood and to smooth and even out the entire surface of the floor. If necessary, before application of new finish and paint, replace or repair any damaged existing maple floor with up to 300 square feet of matching maple gymnasium flooring. COAST GUARD LOGO: Before you begin stripping the floor obtain a traced pattern (or by whatever means necessary) of the logo in center of the floor. The logo is to be reapplied, to its present dimensions, after the floor has been re-sealed. SEAL FLOOR: Prepare floor and apply one coat of Hillyard Gold Medallist Wood Seal (or equivalent) over entire floor in accordance with manufacturers specifications. GAME LINES: After floor sealant has dried in accordance with manufacturers specifications, layout and prepare floor for replacement of game lines for:=20 Volleyball, paint color Hillyard?s yellow #664; Basketball, paint color Hillyard?s black #660; and Badminton, paint color Hillyard?s red #661 using Hillyard?s (or equivalent) specific instructions. Newly applied lines should align with any marking schemes before resurfacing began, or as directed. COAST GUARD LOGO: In the center of the floor replace the existing logo (using your traced pattern) to its dimensions before the floor was stripped. Use Hillyard?s #662 Blue, #665 White and #661 Red (or their equivalents). A small sample Coast Guard logo can be provided for an example of the color scheme if necessary. FLOOR FINISH: After paint lines and logo have dried in accordance with manufacturers specifications apply two coats of Hillyard?s Gold Medallist Gym Floor finish (or equivalent) in accordance with manufacturers specifications. Clean surface of dirt and debris between applications. CLEAN UP: Contractor will ensure work is area is left clean and free of debris at the end of each workday.=20 WORK SCHEDULE: Contact Chief Warrant Officer Mike Mitchell, Facilities Engineer, Coast Guard Integrated Support Command Ketchikan, Alaska tel: 907/228-0311 before scheduling any work. All work shall be performed between our normal work hours of 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday unless other arrangements have been made in advance with CWO Mitchell. PRE-BID: Bidders are required to inspect the job site prior to submitting bids. Contact CWO Mitchell to arrange an inspection during our normal work hours. =20 INCLUDE WITH YOUR BID: Estimated start and completion dates for all work, product name brands and characteristics for all: Seals, paints and finishes should all be Hillyard?s as specified above or their equivalents. PRODUCTS: Paint- use HILLYARD'S Gym line paints. Black #660 for Basketball court lines Red #661 for Badminton court and Yellow #664 for Volleyball court. Sealer: use HILLYARD'S Gold Medallist Wood Seal. Finish: Use HILLYARD'S Gold Medallist Gym Finish. LOCATION OF WORK: U.S. Coast Guard Gymnasium lower base, 1300 Stedman Street Ketchikan, AK 99901 Offerors submit information to show that their qualifications meet or exceed specifications. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items/services prepared in the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-20. The National American Industrial classification system (NAICS) for this product is 235520 and the applicable size standard is 500 employees. The Small Business Administration (SBA) has determined that there are no small business manufacturers or processors in the Federal market and as such are granted a class waiver so that a nonmanufacturer does not have to furnish the product of a small business. The List of Approved NonManufacturer Waivers can be located at the SBA's Procurement Automated Source System (PASS) at http://www.sbaonline.sba.gov. This procurement is set-aside for small business.
