Description

The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Puget Sound intends to issue a contract on a sole source basis to the Kitsap Public Transportation Benefit Area Authority (Kitsap Transit) for implementation at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS), Bremerton, WA, of the DOD Transportation Incentive Program and Executive Order 13150 regarding Federal Workforce Transportation, dated 21 Apr 2000. Kitsap Transit under the contract, will invoice the Government, up to the limits established by the Executive Order, the transportation costs of those qualified/registered PSNS employees that ride the Kitsap Transit public transportation system or ride private van-pool services registered with Kitsap Transit to and from PSNS for work. The contract will also provide for the issuance of vouchers for those employees riding public transportation systems other than Kitsap Transit, to and from PSNS for work. The contract will be issued on a sole source basis to Kitsap Transit, as they are the only public transportation benefit area in Kitsap County, in which PSNS and a majority of its employees reside. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued on or about 17 Jul 01, and close on 27 Jul 01. The solicitation will be issued utilizing the procedures of FAR Part 12, Commercial Acquisition, and will be for a base period, covering time of award through 30 Sep 01, with two option periods, each covering 6 months. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. =20
