Description

PROVIDE REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE OF AIRCRAFT ARRESTING SYSTEM (AAS) AT ROBERT GRAY ARMY AIRFIELD, FORT HOOD TEXAS. This procurement is 100% set aside for small businesses. The requirement is for maintenance, repair and periodic testing of the Aircraft Arresting System at Robert Gray Army Airfield at Fort Hood, Texas. Special requirements for this service: a) mechanics working on the equipment must be graduates of the Unites States Air Force Level-5 Aircraft Arresting System technical school at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas, and b) and mechanics must have a minimum of two years experience in the operation, maintenance and repair of BAK-12 Aircraft Arresting Systems. The term of the contract is for one 12-month base period, with four one-year option periods. The tentative date for issuance of Request for Proposal (RFP) is 20 Jul 2001 and the tentative date for receipt of proposals is 20 Aug 2001. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 488190 with a size standard of $5.0 million. The resultant contract will be a Firm-Fixed Price Service Contract with a starting date of 1 October 2001. The solicitation will also be posed through the Internet on or after 27 Jul 2001 with an anticipated closing date of 27 Aug 2001.
