Description

This acquisition is for a quantity of 25, plus a 100% option quantity, of Radio Frequency Amplifier, NSN: 5996-01-367-6556, P/O AN/TPQ-36. The AN/TPQ-36 is a mobile mortar locating radar used to detect and locate the point of origin of enemy mortar fire. Without the RF Amplifier, the radar is non-operational. The RF Amplifiers are repairable items; this effort is to procure replacement units for those that are no longer repairable. A sole source award will be made to CAP Wireless, Inc., 3537 Old Conejo Road, Suite 105, Newbury Park, CA 91320 under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1), Only One Responsible Source, as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 (b) (1). The Government does not possess technical data (drawings or specifications) completely defining the form, fit, and function of the item; in addition, the form, fit, and function is not defined by any nationally recognized industry standard or specification. This is a military peculiar part; no commercial equivalent exists. The contract type will be Firm Fixed Price and the period of performance will be 330 days after contract, pending waiver of First Article Test requirements. Subject solicitation DAAB07-01-R-D634 replaces solicitation DAAB07-00-R-D657, which was cancelled when the original manufacture, Amplifier Acquisition Corp., went out of business.
