NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quote RFQ-228-29757-0000/721 for 1. one (1) each of a Trailer, gooseneck, tri-axle, 50-ton capacity, non-ground bearing design, detachable gooseneck, low profile design, full scraper neck, width 108 inches, rear scraper feature -- 30 degrees with steps, axles, tri-axle 108 inches wide -- 25,000 pounds each, ABS brakes, one axle, suspension -- hutch 9700 tri-axle with heavy duty springs, brakes -- 16-1/2 inches x 7 inches, tires size 255/70RX22.5, low profile radial cylinders, deck size 24 feet long x 108 inches wide. Deck main rails shall be 16 inch high tensile steel, outriggers -- 12 each side on 24 inch center. Lashing rings shall be 7 each side. Motor shall be 16HP Kohler, self-contained, 12 volt with cover. Lights shall be Truck Lite Sealed Beams. Paint color is to be red with frame jack. Borco Model No. B50z or equal. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR PART 12. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 336212 and 500, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO C9. The anticipated release date of RFQ-228-29757-0000/721 is on or about July 23, 2001 with an anticipated quote due date of on or about August 2, 2001. All qualified responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B".
