Description

Project includes converting paper documents into an electronic database that is seachable, accessible, and linkable. Document conversion is defined as the scanning, OCR, verification, and reassembly of the document. The documents include pure text, text and graphics, graphics and photographs/slides, engineering plots and graphs. work involves OCR conversion to electronic file format of text documents with and without imbedded graphics, graphic and photo scanning, engineering plots and graphs, and database creation and population. Most documents are standard pages; 8 1/2 by 11, thee are other page sizes. Documents are bound and unbound. The scanning, OCR and reassembly of the document shall be 99% or better in accuracy with respect to content and format (font and font parameters). Target formats shall include MS Word 2000 (.doc), plain text (.txt), HTML (.htm), rich text format (.rtf) and PDF. Proposals to include sample conversions of selected documents. Anticipated award will be to one contractor, with options for four additional periods. Solicitation available on or about August 3, 2001.
