Description
RFP-R6-8-01-35 TWISP RIVER ROAD RESURFACING The Okanogan/Wenatchee National Forests seeks proposals for construction services to recondition and resurface 10.59 kilometers of the of the Twisp River road and stockpile aggregate. The project consists of reconditioning the roadbed including scarification and removal and disposal of oversized material, removal of designated hazard trees, brushing roadside vegetation, reconstructing the roadbed to re-establish the crown, compacting roadbed, reconditioning drainage ditch lines, cleaning inlets and outlets of culverts, crushing (from Forest Service pit) and crushing and placing 9800 cubic meters of aggregate to a 150 mm depth and to the existing width, extending in 8 meters for intersections of campgrounds, and stockpiling 5000 cubic meters of aggregate at the pit location for future use by the Forest Service, in the Poplar Flat quarry site located in T31N, R22 E, Sec. 32, NW of NE of the NW . The project is located approximately 18 miles from Twisp, WA. From Twisp take county road #9114 approximately 14 miles to Forest road 4400 then follow road 4400 approximately 3.5 miles to Forest road 4440000 the beginning of the project. The pit is located on road 4440330 approx. 1.3.miles from the beginning of the project. Site Considerations: Water will be obtained form the Twisp river on the 4435 road. The project parallels the Twisp River. Foreign material, must be kept out of the stream. A site visit will be scheduled. The contract time is 60 calendar days estimated start date of September 15, 2001. Estimated price range is $250,000 to $500,000.
