Description

The Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate and issue a sole source modification to extend Contract N00019-96-D-2047 for a 3-month period and three 3-month option periods pursuant to FAR Par 6.301-1. The purpose of the modification is to provide Commercial Air Services for various types to support readiness training services until completion of a competitive award. If all option periods are exercised, the contract will be extended from 01 October 2000 through 30 September 2002, at which time a competitively awarded contract will commence. The current contractor, Flight International, Inc., is the only source available to provide the required services for a three-month period, due to extensive day-to-day contact between the government, fleet schedulers, and contractor personnel, required aircraft and equipment, and short time frame of performance for which these critical readiness training services are required. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposal.
