Description
The United States Department of Agriculture has a requirement for a two-year firm fixed-price IDIQ contract that will allow the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)and various other agencies to purchase common configuration GPS including both a high end and low end option. In the future, USDA products and services will be linked spatially to digital maps. The client will associate USDA programs and businesses with the farms and fields to which they apply. Most of USDA's business data is geospatial in nature, or referenced to geographical locations. GPS technology will allow Service Center personnel to accurately collect geospatial data to support planning and program delivery to the customer. To provide GPS capability to USDA Service Centers, two GPS configurations were identified for procurement. Configuration 1 is a Real Time GPS / Nationwide Differential GPS (NDGPS) System. This system was designed to use NDGPS to enhance GPS data in real time. This system consists of a GPS receiver, Radio Beacon receiver, Dual DGPS / NDGPS antenna, backpack, external battery, RF cable, Extension /Eliminator / Recharging cable, antenna cable, Power / Data Communication cable, and male-male Null Modem adapters. Configuration 2 is a GPS / External Antenna System. This system was designed to use GPS with an external antenna, where NDGPS is not available. This system consists of a GPS receiver, external antenna, and backpack. This system uses the same GPS receiver and backpack that is part of Configuration 1, allowing the system to be upgraded to Configuration 2 when needed without buying a new GPS receiver. Initial delivery includes 10 first article test units of Configuration 1 within 60 days of award of the contract. The contract will include an approximately twelve-month base period with one optional twelve-month period. No telephone requests for this solicitation. Requests should be made in writing to the address stated herein or sent via facsimile at (202) 720-4529. See Numbered Note #1.
