Description

The National Industry of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to enter into a sole source contract with JOEL USA, Inc., Peabody MA, for the maintenance renewal of Scanning Microscopes, Electronic Microscopes and Four Crystal Spectrometer. The components for the aforementioned Microscopes and spectrometer are proprietary in nature and are only available through the manufacturer. Period of Performance for this effort will be from 1 October 2001 through 30 September 2002 with three (3) one-year option periods. The proposed requirement is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 13.106. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. POC for this effort will be Ms. Karen A. Morelli. Ms. Morelli may be reached via e-mail at karen.morelli@nist.gov. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all responses received within 15 days after the date of publication of this synopsis. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill the requirement. A solicitation is not available. See Numbered Note 26.****
