- Description
- The work is located at Hoover Dam and Powerplant, approximately 8 miles northeast of Boulder City, Nevada, and 32 miles from Las Vegas, Nevada, in Clark County, Nevada, and Mohave County, Arizona. Work to be performed under this solicitation consists of designing, furnishing, and installing emergency lighting system consisting of emergency lighting fixtures and exit signs, tapping into existing lighting circuits to power the emergency lights and exit signs. The work includes furnishing electrical drawings, furnishing and installing electrical conduit, insulated conductors, and grounding conductors, junction boxes, connections, and associated hardware. The performance period will be published in the solicitation. We strongly recommend that all prospective offerors visit the site to examine the location of the work. Access to the work site is very limited and conditions at the site will affect the Contractor's operations. Prospective bidders desiring to visit the site of the work should communicate with Mr. Art Carvajal, Construction Inspector, Lower Colorado Dams Facilities Office, Hoover Dam, telephone: (702) 239-8589. We request that bidders refrain from making site visit arrangements until after the solicitation has been issued. The estimated cost range of this project is $100,001 and $250,000. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is 235310 (Electrical Work, Wiring, Servicing and Installing Electrical Equipment) and the small business size standard is $11.5 million. The solicitation including plans and specifications, will be issued approximately 15 days from publication of this requirement. Instructions for downloading the solicitation file are provided at the web site. It is the bidder's responsibility to monitor the site for amendments (if any). Requests for drawings must be submitted in writing. Box 61470, Boulder City, NV 89006-1470. The method of procurement will be by sealed bid, FAR Part 14. This solicitation is Set-Aside for Hubzone Businesses. All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the agency. The estimated issuance date of the solicitation is July 16, 2001. The estimated date for receipt of bids is August 16, 2001. The solicitation, plans and specifications will be available from our web site on the day of issuance and drawings will be put in the mail the same day. Except for the drawings, plans and specifications will NOT be directly provided in a paper hard copy format nor CDs. Notification of any changes to this solicitation will be made ONLY on the Internet site. It is, therefore, the contractor's responsibility to check the below listed Internet site daily for any posted changes in this solicitation's plans and specifications.
