Description

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) through the Program Support Center, General Acquisitions Branch is soliciting proposals to award a sixteen month Simplified Acquisition for a School Violence Prevention Musician's Education Outreach Initiative. The two major objectives for this project are: to identify musicians and to obtain a commitment from them to participate in a pilot program that will deliver positive messages of respect, tolerance, anti-violence, and anti-bullying to young people (aged 9-19) during interviews and concerts. This includes identifying venues and events in the Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland areas where those artists are scheduled to appear. The Pilot program shall be analyzed and develop a written proposal for a nationwide musician's initiative, similar to Farm Aid, and the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon.
