Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation is (Request for Quotation) RFQ 01-01-102. Solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-27. This procurement fall within the definition of North America Industry classification code 421390. The small business size standard is 100 employees. ITEM 1) Bentomat CL 88300 square ft.; ITEM 2) Claymax 600 CL 163800 square ft.; and ITEM 3) Bentonite for seams 40 bags. The Geosynthetic clay liners (GCL) shall consist of a layer of natural sodium bentonite clay encapsulated between two geotextiles. The GCL shall be reinforced consisting of a layer of bentonite between two geotextiles which are needle punched together. The GCL shall be approved for slopes of 3:1 by the manufacturer. The permeability shall be 5x10 (-9) cm/sec or less and the bentonite mass/square area shall be .75 pounds/square ft. or more. The GCL shall be capable of being buried underneath a 6" layer of soil plus 1 12" layer of riprap without tearing. One know source is Bentomat CL manufactured by CETCO Geosynthetic Clay Liners. The GCL shall consist of two light weight geotextiles encapsulating a layer of bentonite with a composite laminate applied to the geotextiles. The GCL shall be approved for flat and mild slopes. The permeability shall be 5x10 (-9) cm/sec or less and the bentonite mass/square area shall be .75 pounds/square feet or more. The GCL shall be capable of being buried underneath a 12" layer of soil without tearing. One known source is Claymax 600Ca manufactured by CETCO Geosynthetive Clay Liners. The granular bentonite sealing clay used for overlay seaming, penetration sealing and repairs shall be made from the same natural sodium bentonite as used in the GCL and shall be as recommended by the GCL manufacturer. The vendor shall submit manufacturer's literature and representative sample of the GCL's with their quote. Material shall be delivered via destination to the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, Lucerne Campground sewer lagoon which is approx. 7 miles east of Manila, UT.
