- Description
- The Aviators Oxygen Systems Integrated Product Team (IPT) at Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Patuxent River, MD is pursuing a technology insertion initiative that will replace Liquid Oxygen (LOX) systems in existing naval aircraft through the use of Molecular Sieve Type On-Board Oxygen Generating Systems (OBOGS). This is for Informational Purposes Only. The Aviators Oxygen Systems IPT will host an unclassified Industry Day/Event during this year's Oxygen Standardization Coordinating Group (OSCG) meeting scheduled to be held on 7 -- 9 August 2001. The purpose of the event is to exchange data with Industry and to help Government agencies obtain a better understanding of the technical baseline. The open forum portion of the Industry Day/Event will take place at 1:00 PM on 9 August 2001, at the Ramada, 1500 Miracle Strip Parkway, Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The Aviators Oxygen Systems IPT plans on conducting private, one-on-one discussions between government and vendors on 10 August 2001 to give industry a chance to share technical information and provide data for the Aviators Oxygen Systems IPT to refine LOX-to-OBOGS objectives. Read-ahead packages, which include the draft Systems Requirements Document (SRD), aircraft platform data sheets, and Pro-E models of aircraft LOX bays, for the Industry Day/Event will be available by 10 July 2001. Please contact Melissa Lopez at LopezMB@navair.navy.mil or Tzu-Hsien (Shen) Yen at YenT@navair.navy.mil for electronic copies of the read-ahead packages. All vendors desiring to meet with the Aviators Oxygen Systems IPT on 10 August must schedule with Tzu-Hsien (Shen) Yen via email by 31 July 2001 to allow time to coordinate the meetings. There is no registration fee to attend Industry Day. To attend, please register by sending an email to inform the Government of the name and the organization of each attendee no later than 31 July 2001. Please be prepared to address questions listed in the questionnaire in the read-ahead package. We suggest that firms designate at least one technical expert and one marketing/management representative. All questions yielded during Industry Day will be made available at the PMA-202 Web site http://pma202.navair.navy.mil/. This Industry Day is for informational purposes only. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Quotation (RFQ), or an Invitation for Bids (IFB), nor does it commit the Government to issue such a request or invitation. Industry Day participation and one-on-one discussion with industry are strictly voluntary and the Government will not provide any reimbursement or otherwise pay for information/presentations associated with Industry Day.
