Description
The US Army, TACOM ARDEC Picatinny Arsenal, acting on behalf of the Joint Ballistics Working Group (JBWG) is seeking interested parties to review documents in an attempt to aid the government in development of a new standard, which specifies the requirements upon, and parameters for, interchangeability of Guided Munitions and Course Correcting Fuzes. These documents describe the characteristics of Guided Munitions and Course Correcting Fuzes, as well as, to define the data necessary to initialize them. This documentation, called Annex G to the Joint Ballistics Memorandum of Understanding, is being made available for review to industry partners in the US. If it is desired, you may request copies of the latest versions of this Annex from the Contracting Officer listed below. These documents would be provided for informational purposes only. No contract award is anticipated at this time. This Request For Information (RFI) is for information purposes only. Replies are not offers and the Government is under no obligation to award any contracts as a result of this RFI. No funds are available to pay for the cost of preparing responses to this RFI. Annex G contains technical data whose export is restricted by the Arms Export Control Act (Title 22, U.S.C. Sect. 2751, et. seq.) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (22 C.F.R. Sections 120-130). A Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) must be in place prior to the issuance of Annex G. Industry comments will be given consideration by the JBWG for incorporation into the Annex prior to final release. In this way, it is expected that the developers of guided projectiles and fuzes, inductive setters and firing platforms will have few issues in complying with this annex. Please identify any issues that may impede development of systems in compliance with this Annex or any inconsistencies in the material contained. Further distribution of these documents must be approved by the Joint Ballistics Working Group Comments and should be forwarded to Marion Doyle mdoyle@pica.army.mil or Bruce Williams bwwill@pica.army.mil. Responses are requested no later than August 15, 2001.
