Description

The Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest is seeking a firm to prepare a topographic survey on approximately 21 acres in Rabun County in the mountains of north Georgia. PROJECT INFORMATION: The work and services consist of performing a topographic survey of the area delineated on the project map. Any survey method of data collection is acceptable. The work includes field date collection, office generation of site contours, production of a hard copy (plotted) map, and delivery of digital data on CD media. The work and services require collecting enough onsite data to generate a two-foot contour interval map for the project area. A locally established reference elevation will be used as the beginning point for the elevation data. The work and services will be performed in English units (US Survey Feet), referenced to the Georgia West State Plane Coordinate system. Qualified professional personnel will supervise the field crew with experience in conducting topographic surveys. The delivered data will be in both hardcopy format (plotted) as well as digitally on CD media. The plotted data will be signed and stamped by a Registered Land Surveyor (RLS) licensed to practice in Georgia. The digital data may be in ether AutoCAD (Rev14) or in dxf format. A statement will accompany the digital data affirming that the work was supervised by a Georgia licensed RLS. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS: There is no solicitation package to request; firms desiring consideration should submit Standard Forms 254 and 255 by July 30, 2001. Use SF-255 form Block 10 (extra sheets may be used) to provide specific information on firm's experience in performing topographic surveys, an outline of the proposed approach, and schedule for accomplishing this work. Provide a sample map of similar topographic survey work. SELECTION INFORMATION: See Note 24 for complete information on the A&E selection process. The selection criteria are listed below in descending order of importance. Criteria (1). Specialized experience and technical competence (a) Experience of personnel planned to perform field data collection (b) Experience with performing topographic surveys (c) Survey method proposed for field data collection. Criteria (2). Capacity to accomplish the work in the required time. The evaluation will consider the experience of the firm in projects of similar complexity and the availability of an adequate number of personnel in key disciplines. Criteria (3) Professional capabilities. Qualified professional personnel with experience in topographic surveys and a Registered Land Surveyor who is licensed to practice in the state of Georgia. Criteria (4) Past performance on similar contracts with respect to cost control, quality of work, and compliance with performance schedules. Criteria (5) Geographical location and knowledge of the locality of the project.
