- Description
- NASA/JSC plans to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) for seven DC Brush Gearmotor/Brake units. The output required is 32.2 in-lb. nominal torque capability and 75 in-lb. maximum torque at zero speed under all on-orbit (vacuum) and one atmosphere air environmental conditions. The average speed is 20 RPM. The unit must fit within an envelope of 1.7 in. diameter by 8.51 in. long. Utilization voltage shall be 28 Volts DC (Range 22-28 Volts DC). Maximum current a single motor can draw shall be 3.0 Amperes (3.0 Amperes peak inrush). (Information only: Current will be limited at the supply to a set point to limit maximum torque). Total life of the actuator shall be 10 years. Through out the life of the actuator, the powered operation shall accumulate no more than 12 hours. Each powered operation shall last no more than 180 seconds. Non-operating temperature shall be -80 to 150 degrees F; the operating temperature shall be -65 to 110 degrees F. . The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 336419 and 1,000 employees, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-_C9. The provisions and clauses in the [RFO OR IFB OR RFP OR RFQ] and model contract are those in effect through FAC 97-27. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about 7/9/01 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about 8/9/01. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet.
