- Description
- The Social Security Administration (SSA) is seeking capable sources of providing the agency with a State-of?the-Art Predictive Network Simulation Tool. This tool will be used for network capacity planning and should provide software models of network components, protocols and applications into a single overall model. MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: 1.) The tool should provide an easy to use non-programming Windows NT and Windows 2000 workstation environment. 2.) The tool must provide an advanced library of protocols, applications and device models to include at the MINIMUM: -Up to date inventory of Cisco routers. ?Frame Relay and ATM protocols with PVC and VPI definitions. ?IP, Ethernet and Token Ring protocols -SNA (mainframe), video, database, and Email applications. 3.)The tool can use either discrete event or analytical simulation modeling methods (or both), but simulations must run in a reasonable period of time. Run time must be controllable by changing the level of model detail. 4.)Must have import capability to accept configuration import files from Netview/Tivoli, NAI Sniffers, and Compuware Ecoscope. 5.)Must provide a suite of output reports along with presentation and drawing tools. 6.) Reports must be easily posted on the Web. Interested vendors must be able to provide verifiable proof by submitting information in sufficient detail to demonstrate their ability to meet the Agencies requirement. Vendors should provide the names and contact information of customers. Vendors responding should indicate whether their services are available on GSA Schedule. Pricing data may be submitted. This is not a request for proposal and the Government does not intend to pay for information submitted. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation of the data received. No contract award will be made on the basis of responses received; however, this information will be used in SSAs assessment of capable sources. All responsible sources should visit the following SSA website: http://www.ssa.gov/oag/acq/oag_acquisition.htm and complete the Section 508 evaluation template and submit it with there response to this announcement. Responses to this notice should be submitted in duplicate by July 26, 2001 and should refer to SIMULATION. Requests for copies of a solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged.
