- Description
- Provide all transportation, labor and equipment to drill one 16" diameter galvanized steel pile in the Port Graham waterways of the Kenai Peninsula. Remove existing buoy and transport to the Homer City pier. U.S. Coast Guard personnel to specify exact location for the new pile structure. New structure is to be built using new 16" diameter galvanized steel pipe pile, Coast Guard provided steel ladder and Coast Guard platform (approximate locations: 59-22.1N, 151-52.4W). Work includes welding ladders and connectors, and installation of same. Government provided platform and ladder sections to be picked up at the Homer City pier, Homer, Alaska. Construction shall be performed between July 15, 2001 and Oct. 1, 2001. Once on site, all work shall be completed within 7 calendar days. The estimated cost range for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. See the solicitation for bonding requirements. This procurement is issued on an unrestricted basis pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, public law 100-656, as implemented by the OFPP Policy Directive and Test Plan dated 8/31/89. This is NOT a small business set-aside. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code is 234990 and the applicable Small Business size standard is $27.5 million dollars in annual receipts for the past three years. All responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the U.S.Coast Guard. Request for Quotation packages must be submitted and received by this office not later than 9 July 2001. For minority, Women-Owned and Disadvataged Business Enterprises; The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short term contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance program, enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guarantee of the bid bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide for accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000 dollars.
