Description

The Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) intends to incorporate new Detention Standards into its solicitations and contracts for detention services. This may affect the ability of present and future entities who may (or seek to) provide detention services under contracts with the INS to initiate, continue or propose to perform such detention services for the INS. Since the INS Detention Standards are lengthy, they are not incorporated herein, but can be accessed at: http://www.ins.usdoj/graphics/lawsregs/guidance/htm. The INS will host a meeting on June 27, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. EDT in Washington, D.C. in order to clarify the impact of the incorporation of these detention standards on current detention service providers who have such contracts with the INS. The intent of the meeting is not to enter into discussions, clarifications or exchanges (as defined under FAR Part 15) with offerors or potential offerors under current INS solicitations for detention services. This meeting may be of interest to firms or entitities which may wish to offer detention services in response to further INS detention service requirements as they may be announced; this meeting will not discuss prospective INS requirements or proposals from offerors.
