Description

Tropic Test Support Services to include but not limited to technical, operational, administrative, and logistical support for the Tropic Test Mission of U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground. This support will be Panama-based to utilize scientists, engineers and technicians experienced in natural environmental tropical testing, but actual field testing will be conducted at a variety of sites in Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Panama and other locations. Contractor will have the responsibility for conducting a variety of natural environmental test and test support efforts on all types of materials, products and complete systems. Duration of tasks issued under the contract will vary from a few days to several months, requiring travel and extended periods of on-site temporary duty. Successful Contractor receiving award must be licensed to conduct business in Panama. Selection of the successful offeror will be made using best value procedures. A cost-plus-fixed-fee type contract is anticipated. The contract base period of performance will be 5 years (anticipated to commence 1 October 2001) with an option of 3 years available. If required, phase-in will be for a period of 2 weeks immediately prior to full performance. A site visit time will be announced within the solicitation. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 541330 with a size standard of $4 million.
