Description

NASA/GRC plans to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) for the verification and validation of LEWICE 2.0 and 2.2 software code to perform the calculations specified accurately and to operate in a reliable manner. Some of the tasks required are: The exercise of each available selection in the input file to ensure proper functionality. The code must be checked to assure no changes have been made to its previously validated ice shape simulation capability. Performance of parametric studies using several material properties and body dimensions to assess the influence of these parameters on the solutions developed by the software and a thermal analysis with the LEWICE 2.2 software using a set of approximately 50 conditions, to be provided by NASA. Deliverable will be a report detailing the results of the code validation. Interested applicants should have experience in using software for CFD or similar analysis and experience in icing and icing software is desired. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 541710 and 500 employees, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9. The provisions and clauses in the RFO and model contract are those in effect through FAC 97-24. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about June 29, 2001 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about August 2, 2001. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet.
