Description

The Perinatology Research Branch (PRB) of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) is seeking a contractor capable of using an antibody-based proteomics approach to detect changes in protein concentrations in biological fluids and tissues obtained from patients with normal pregnancy and pregnency related complications of genes that may be involved in the physiological and pathological processes of pregnancies. The contractor must have the capability to receive tissue lysates and biological fluids for processing with an antibody-based approach and to identify and quantify the proteins in the lysates. A particular emphasis will be on the ability to detect proteins that differ between paris of samples or sets of samples. High sensitivity systems are required given the limited amount of protein in the tissue and biological fluid. The Institute is seeking a cost efficient approach to this analysis. Previous expertise in the identification of different profiles in biological fluids and tissues is desirable. The contractor shall provide the following services: 1) Provide advice and reagents for sample preparation. 2) Separate the proteins in the lysates. 3) Quantify the separated proteins. 4) Identify the separated proteins. 5) Provide identification and quantification data in a convenient format for analyses. and 6) Provide assistance and training in the use and analyses of the data. The NICHD is seeking sources who are capable of performing the work described above and they are requested to submit a statement of capability with documentation supporting its capabilities within 30 days from the date of publication of this announcement.
