Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulations [FAR] Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. (i) This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This CBD notice can be viewed and downloaded using the Agency Web Site. The Worldwide Web address is http://www.usaid.gov. Select Business and Procurement from the home page, then "USAID Procurements." On the following screen, select "Download Available USAID Solicitations." (ii) The Solicitation Number for this Request For Quotations (RFQ) is OFDA-01-BP. This acquisition will be conducted using simplified acquisition procedures. (iii) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 97-17. (iv) The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code is 5941, with a small business size standard of $5.0 million. This procurement is set aside for small businesses. (v) The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Bureau for Humanitarian Response, Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA), anticipates awarding a Purchase Order for backpacks and equipment intended for use by its members of Disaster Assistance Response Teams (DART). It is expected that the requirement will be for 30 of each of the items, except for item 10, water bottle, for which the requirement is 60. Name brands and Item numbers (REI items can be viewed at www.rei.com; Campmor items can be viewed at www.campmor.com) are provided for reference only and reflect the characteristics that the equal products must meet. FAR Clause 52.211-6, Brand Name or Equal is incorporated by reference. Quotations shall include descriptive literature. Offeror must clearly indicate if the product being offered is an "equal product" and shall reference the brand name product referenced in the solicitation. Vendors may be required, after technical review of quotations, to submit a sample of any of the items to ensure the item is equal to that required. The items are as follows: 1.
