- Description
- The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) has a requirement to seek a wall breaching capability that will provide infantry Marines with a stand-off capability to make a 24" (60.96cm) (threshold), 36" (91.44cm)(objective) diameter breach in a 12" (30.48cm) triple-thick brick (threshold), 8" (20.32cm) thick reinforced concrete (objective) wall at <450 (threshold), <600 (objective) horizontal angle to the weapon-target axis between 17 meters (threshold), 10 meters (objective), to 150m (threshold), 175m (objective) within the rocket motor currently in use by the United States Marine Corps with the intent of integrating it into the Follow-On To The Shoulder-launched Multi-purpose Assault Weapon System in a future effort. MARCORSYSCOM intends to award a sole source contract to Rafael, Manor Propulsion & Explosive Division, P.O.B. 2082, Haifa 31021, Israel for the evaluation of their Wall Breaching Stand-Off Munitions in the Should-launched Multi-purpose Assault Weapon System (SMAW) and delivery of ten (10) rockets with live warheads in launch containers packaged in shipment containers and three (3) reusable tripods. Rafael's current knowledge, tested hardware and specific experience gained from previous similar efforts will allow their Wall Breaching Stand-Off Munitions to be readily applied to the SMAW. Also, the system to be tested is proprietary to Rafael and is unavailable from any other source. The required period of performance for this requirement is approximately 10 months after contract award. See Numbered Note 22.
