Description

This project involves building 19 at the U. S. Army Soldier Systems Center in Natick, Massachusetts. Building 19 is approximately 88 feet by 41 feet in area. The work to be performed includes both demolition and new construction. Items to be demolished include three steel boiler exhaust stacks and controls, the entire built-up roofing system, a lightning protection system, boiler stack exhaust fans, and miscellaneous concrete equipment pads and roof drains. New construction includes providing new steel boiler exhaust stacks and supports, EPDM roofing and related items, roof drains, a lightning protection system, exhaust fans and controls, concrete equipment pads, and performing miscellaneous concrete repairs. Asbestos and lead-containing paint are present in various items to be demolished or to be impacted by the work. The estimated cost of the work is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. Work shall be completed within 180 calendar days after receipt of a Notice to Proceed. Specifications will be made available on or about 7/03/01. Prospective bidders, subcontractors, and plan rooms are required to self-register their firm or office on the Internet for this solicitation.
