Description

The Naval Air Systems Command, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), intends to award a Firm Fixed Price, Sole Source contract, for a base year and three option years, to General Dynamics Armament Systems (GDAS), Burlington, VT for the M61A2 20mm lightweight Gatling gun and Armament Feed System for the F-18 E/F aircraft. It is estimated the Navy will procure approximately forty-eight (48) units per year. GDAS is the only company that possesses the engineering expertise, technical and propriety data, in-place equipment and experienced personnel necessary to perform the efforts associated with this procurement. Therefore, GDAS is considered to be the lone qualified source capable of responding to the Government's requirement. See Note 22.
