Description

The Joint Vaccine Acquisition Program (JVAP) is seeking to identify information about candidates for a vaccine (e.g., whole cell killed, recombinant, sub-unit, or live attenuated) to protect against plague, acquired both naturally and via aerosol exposure. The goal of the JVAP is to develop, license, and acquire an initial stockpile of vaccines to protect the U.S. Forces against biological warfare agents. Information about candidate plague vaccines should include an outline of initial research and development of the product with any data supporting mechanism of delivery, immunogenicity, and protective efficacy. A process for manufacture of the proposed plague vaccine amenable to good manufacturing practice regulations is desirable. The developer must be willing to work with JVAP's prime system contractor for continued process development, production, and FDA licensure of the plague vaccine.
