NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), in Morgantown, WV currently holds a license contract for software from Molecular Simulations, Inc. (MSI), and we need to continue to maintain the MSI software being used in our computational biology projects. This action would renew all floating software licenses that the HELD, Exposure Assessment Branch currently holds with MSI and would allow all licenses to terminate on the same date. The current licenses are for: Binding Site Analysis Interface, C2.Alignment, C2.Analog Builder, C2.Cation Locator, C2.Conformers, C2.CSAR, C2.DC Access, C2. Descriptor, C2.Discover Interface, C2, Fieldfit, C2.Force Field Editor, C2.Genetic Algorithms, C1.MFA, C1.Minimizer, C2.MOPAC Interface, C2.Open force field, C2.QSAR+, C2.Receptor, C2.SBF Interface, C2SDK NC, C2.Visualizer LS, Catalyst/DB Server, Catalyst/Hypogen Package, Catalyst/Info, Catalyst/Maybridge, Catalyst/NCI, Catalyst/Shape, and Catalyst/Visualizer beginning 9/01/2001 and terminationg on 12/31/2002. Additional software licenses for: Discover LS, Insight II LS, Profiles-3D, Homology, Biopolymer, Search/Compare, C1.DMOL3-Solid State, Delphi, Decipher, C2.Visualizer MS, C2.MOPAC Interface, C2.DMOL3 Interface, C2.DMOL3-Molecular, C2.Crystal Builder, C2.Surface Builder, Insight II LS, and Sketcher, will be renewed for the period 8/1/2001 and terminate 12/31/2002, in order to make the next license renewal consistent for all packages. The government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Molecular Simulations, Inc., San Diego, CA because we are not aware of any other sources who can supply the specified licenses and associated support. If there are vendors having the capabilities necessary to meet the stated requirements above, they may submit appropriate documentation, literature, brochures and references to Brenda L. Goodwin (MS 1019), Reference: 2001-Q-04072, DHHS, PHS, CDC, NIOSH, ALOSH, 1095 Willowdale Road, Morgantown, WV 26505. Organizations may respond within 10 days after publication of this notice.
