Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with William Keery, Washington, D.C. to develop standards and measurement methods for accurate Scanning Electron Microscope calibration using an AMRAY Metrology Instrument, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) Only One Source Reasonably Available. Specific tasks include: 1) technical support for the operation of the AMRAY Scanning Electron Microscope and Laser Interferometer Stage; 2) technical support in obtaining the data necessary for the issuance of SRM 2090; 3) assistance in the optimization and alignment of the NIST Laser Interferometer Stage; and 4) maintenance for the high-resolution SEM Instrument and Laboratory at a high performance level to obtain the best and world class micrographs for NIST research endeavours. The proposed contractor is known to possess the years of specialized training and the requisite knowledge = necessary to accomplish the work. Award to another source would mean intolerable delays to the NIST Precision Engineering Division while the source attained the appropriate training. The period of performance is on or about 08/01/01 for one year with three (3) one-year option periods. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 541710 and the size standard is 500 employees. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, in writing. = This notice of intent is not a request for competition. However, the Government will consider all responses received by the closing date. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A Request for Quotation (RFQ) is not available. =20
