Description

The US Army Research Laboratory, Weapons and Materials Division, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005, intends to award on a sole-source basis for the the purchase of finished encapsulated assembly tiles. Prior purchase of these tiles from CERCOM were in the standard version purchased under request (W813LT-0157-7016) and modified version (W813LT-0123-7008). These tiles were then encapsulated locally using additional material and several hundred hours of shop time. CERCOM is to provide the exact type of tiles that have been purchased in the past. This continued testing of these tiles will determine if the process is equivalent to the ARL manufacturing process. Proper specifications are required. The existing encapsulation titanium metal will be provided from The Army Research Laboratory to CERCOM to continue this process. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
