- Description
- Market Research -- Sources Sought. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking sources capable of providing and installing pre-manufactured, insulation filled steel freezer/cooler panels for installation, if purchased, at Grand Forks AFB, ND. The panels shall be designed for use as a "suspended ceiling system/freezer or cooler ceiling system" and shall include an integral vapor barrier & suspension system having the capability of being supported from a typical bar joist or truss structural system. The ceiling/freezer/cooler system must be capable of supporting a minimum of 700 pounds of point load (two maintenance personnel with tools). The system shall be installed in such a way that it provides a sealed vapor tight installation covering an area 50 X 100 feet, suspended no less than 50 foot above the floor surface. Installation weight shall not exceed 3 pounds per square foot hanging weight. Potential sources shall provide proven test data of their proposed product for use as a fully installed assembly for moisture vapor transmission in accordance with ASTM E-96 (1995) Water Vapor Transmission of Materials that supports their products capabilities. Minimum test results considered acceptable are "a water vapor permeance rate of 0.00 perms". The system/product shall meet or exceed all applicable fire and life safety requirements for interior finish materials. Sources may provide a product of equal capability provided that product meets the ASTM E 96 (1995) Water vapor Transmission of Materials test requirements of 0.00 permeance rates.
