Description

The Government intends to purchase on a sole source basis three (3) each of Size Code A104 and one (1) of Size Code A105 high-pressure vaneaxial CPS Supply Fans from American Fan Company, 2933 Symmes Road, Fairfield, Ohio 45014. These items are necessary for installation as part of the Shipboard CPS Backfit Program. The fans must comply with stringent air flow and noise level performance requirements as per the direction of MIL-S-901 and the guidance of MIL-B-17931. American Fan Company is the only known domestic manufacturer of these items and will provide them by the required delivery date of 17 December 2001. No other source is expected to acquire the special tooling needed and manufacture the fans within this time constraint. The successes of the CPS Backfit installations depend heavily on the timely performance of these fans within equirements.
