Description

Notice of Intent to award a sole source contract to National Geographic Maps Technology Group, 375 Alabama Street, Suite 400, San Francisco, California, 94110 for (6) "Maps on Demand" kiosks to be installed at heavy-traffic Forest Service visitor areas, allowing visitors to create their own customized topographic map. The self-service kiosks will provide on-site users immediate access to all current USGS 7.5' topographic quadrangle maps. The kiosks will have the ability to print in color at a scale of 1:30,000 and create seamless maps on waterproof, tear proof paper within 4 minutes. Request FOB destination pricing. If unable to provide, must provide estimated shipping charges. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement by submitting written inquiries or comments. All inquiries received within the 15 days notice period will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements. Facsimile responses are acceptable.
