- Description
- The purpose of this action is to extend the National Capital Region (NCR) contract for a period of six months beginning 1 September 20001. The planned fully automated Defense Travel System (DTS) has not been implemented as planned, requiring that the existing contract be extended. The NCR contract provides travel services for the Army at the Pentagon, Ft. Myers, Army Material Command Bldg., Hoffman Bldg.s I and II, Ft. Belvoir, Humphreys Engineer Center Support Activity, All Source Analysis Systems Project Office, and Washington Headquarters Services in Virginia, Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the US Army Research Laboratory and U.S. Army Concepts Analysis in Maryland. Defense agencies serviced are the National Defense University in the District of Columbia, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Defense Logistics Agency, Defense Contract Management Agency, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, Defense National Stockpile Center, Defense Contract Audit Agency, and Defense Environmental Security Corporate Information Management Project Office in the State of Virginia, and the National Imagery and Mapping Agency in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. The current NCR extension under Contract DAH22-92-C-0001 will expire on 31 August 2001. A six-month extension is required to permit the locations currently included in the NCR Contract to transition to the Army's recompetition of the travel contracts. The actual implementation timeframe is uncertain; however, implementation is expected sometime within the six-month extension period. This six-month extension will ensure that uninterrupted travel services are provided the NCR location until the new travel service contract is awarded and implemented. See Note 22.
