Description

D -- The U.S. Dept. of Commerce/NOAA/NESDIS/Office of Research and Applications (ORA) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the University of Wisconsin -- Madison Space Science and Engineering Center (SSEC)/Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS) to design, develop, test, implement, rehost and evaluate an operational version of the experimental Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites (GOES)-8/-10 Wildfire Automated Biomass Burning Algorithm (WF_ABBA) Products for real-time applications in NESDIS: this includes an operational format for direct input to and use by the operational Hazard Mapping System (HMS) in NESDIS. The contractor shall also produce in-line software documentation and implementation/maintenance documentation of the WF_ABBA software and products based on NESDIS standards. This is a notice of intent with no solicitation package available. Award will be made using simplified acquisition procedures. (Reference No. 1-00500)
